Simon Erblich, Founder and Managing Partner

Mr. Erblich began his career in 1986 with New York Life as an assistant fund manager with assets under management in excess of $100 million.  In 1994 Mr. Erblich  founded Solomon Communication Partners which participated in the launch of several companies that were among the first to make their foray onto the web. In 1996 Mr. Erblich was named Senior VP for the Adshop.com, one of New York’s first online agencies, where he  assisted start-up ventures in all aspects of online business development. Clients includedSumitomo America, American Airlines and Yoyodyne Entertainment.  Simon Erblich received his BA from Telshe University, Chicago, IL and his MBA/JD from Gateshead University, Gateshead, England.

 

Edward Greissle, Managing Partner

As the founder and CEO of one of New York's first Internet ad agencies, Adshop.com, Mr. Greissle developed advertising campaigns and e-strategies for companies including American Airlines and Sumitrans America, a division of Sumitomo of Japan. Additionally, he independently has created and conducted advertising campaigns with YAHOO!, Wall Street Journal Online, The Motley Fool and CBS MarketWatch, among others. In 1998 Mr. Greissle left Adshop to join 1stVenture.com as a managing partner. Mr. Greissle earned his BA from CUNY - Hunter College and did his post-graduate work at NYU.

 

David Spivey, Associate Director of Operations

Beginning his professional career as an Engineer at Prophet Media Group, Inc. in 1993, David Spivey was elected to and served as President, CEO and Chairman from 1997 until the successful sale of the company in 1999.  This multi million dollar media company provided compact discs, graphic design and pre-press services for such notable clients as Nabisco, Leo Burnett Advertising, Philip Morris, NASA, and Media 100.  Mr. Spivey has also consulted for numerous companies on corporate offerings, acquisitions, strategic planning, operations management, and implementing enterprise database solutions. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Production and Engineering, and has studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Lehigh University.  

 

James Scott, Financial Advisor

James C. Scott has over 21 years of experience in a variety of financial and general management roles. This includes extensive planning and business development roles in Internet, telecommunication and CATV industries. In 1998 Mr. Scott launched The CFO.com. The CFO.com provides CFO services for startup and early stage technology companies. Prior to that Mr. Scott acted as the CFO of VLearn International (formerly STG International LLC) where he worked closely with bankers, venture capital firms, investment bankers, private investors, customers, alliance partners and re-sellers to secure necessary funding for this start-up distance learning (Internet) provider. Activities on behalf of the company included appearances on nationally syndicated television (Money Hunt) and radio shows ("Gina Smith’s Technology" on WABC network).

 

Mike Becker, Associate Partner

Mike has worked in New York in marketing/communications/advertising for more than 30 years. His passion for leading strategic efforts, creating the actual ideas, improving branding and leading and teaching others has made him well known throughout the industry. After graduating from Syracuse with a degree in English and then military service, Mike delivered traffic helicopter reports for three years for a New York/New Jersey based radio station. When he came down to earth, he began as a copywriter at the first ever public advertising agency, Papert Koenig Lois. Aside from a few years as a senior creative executive and board member at Ted Bates Worldwide and BBDO, he spent 27 years at Young & Rubicam Advertising and WCJ eventually becoming Chief Creative Officer Worldwide.
